In the Snake river gorge and from Bonneville to Longview we have some awesome days on the river. We will anchor over one of our holes when sturgeon fishing and bait our hooks with several different baits until the fish let us know what the hot bait for the day is. The most common baits are Smelt, Herring, and Shad. Salmon fishing on the Snake and Columbia is excellent several months of the year. We use several techniques when Salmon fishing including, trolling, and anchoring. We use several different baits and plugs depending on what the fish are doing. Steelhead fishing is also good several months of the year on the Snake and Columbia rivers. You can fish for Salmon, Sturgeon and Steelhead at the same time during certain times of the year which makes for a great time on the river.
